This series has been made alongside my rug project Flight [Cage] . The works look at themes of absence and empathy in relation to environmental crisis. In Welsh mythology birds are messengers, shape shifters, companions, and carriers of the soul. They connect us to each other, to the magical, to the natural world and to the beyond. What would their absence mean for our human sense of connection to the world?
